Location: Kyiv, Ukraine
Area: 155 sq.m. / 1670 sq. ft.
Year: 2019-2023

Mlynchik Residence, a project initiated in October 2019, is situated in the quaint cottage town of Villago near Kyiv. While the exterior architecture of the cottages shares similarities, the clients expressed their desire for an interior design that embraces vibrant colors and lively patterns, aiming to cultivate a warm and inviting atmosphere.
In the master bedroom, brightness reigns supreme. The overall design exudes a sense of airiness and light. Dark brown wooden millwork provides a touch of depth and richness, balancing the room's predominantly light palette.
The bed itself boasting a unique design with a headboard made from "Wall and Deco" wallpaper.
Soft lighting by Flos Taraxacum pendant light enhances the tranquil atmosphere, making the bedroom an ideal retreat for rest and rejuvenation.
The master bathroom is a sanctuary of luxury and style. Accent dark pink tiles lend a touch of opulence to the space, creating a sense of indulgence.
A custom marble vanity with clean lines and ample storage adds to the bathroom's elegance. It's a space where you can unwind and pamper yourself in a serene and inviting environment.
The guest room bursts with lively colors and cheerful accents. The walls are adorned in a sunny shade of yellow, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for visitors.
The centerpiece of the room is a custom cupboard made from colorful MDF panels, a creative storage solution that doubles as an art piece. Thoughtfully chosen furnishings and decor ensure that guests feel comfortable and cherished during their stay.
The guest bathroom echoes the overall theme of understated elegance.
Beige stone tiles form a serene backdrop, while dark wooden furniture adds a touch of warmth and sophistication. This bathroom combines natural elements with modern design to create a harmonious and inviting space for guests to freshen up and relax.
The kitchen seamlessly connects to the living room, sharing its vibrant ambiance. Here, modern functionality harmonizes with the clients' desire for lively patterns. The kitchen features a green island that stands out as a bold focal point amidst a predominantly beige color scheme.
Sleek cabinetry and black appliances complete the space, creating a perfect blend of style and practicality. It's a culinary haven where the clients can prepare delicious meals while enjoying the company of family and friends.
Upon entering the Mlynchik Residence, you are greeted by the inviting living room. The custom L-shaped retro-style beige couch is the centerpiece of this space, offering both comfort and style. An accent wall painted in a lively shade of orange provides a striking contrast, adding vibrancy to the room.
Next to the couch, handmade cement tiles by Lviv manufacturer Leoti frame the custom fireplace, their intricate designs captivating the eye. Vintage chairs are thoughtfully placed near the fireplace, creating cozy nooks for relaxation and conversation.
We'd like to pause the narrative for a moment to introduce you to one of the clients' cats, who played a significant role during the two-day photoshoot of the space. This furry companion is Mlynchik, which translates from Ukrainian as "pancake," Mlynchik lent a helping paw and a touch of charm to the project. Sadly, Mlynchik passed away just a couple of weeks after the photoshoot, and we decide to name the project in his memory.

Rest in peace, dear Mlynchik.
Within the house, there is a cozy entrance zone. Adjacent to this welcoming space, you'll find a guest bathroom designed with inviting patterned cement tiles.
The Patio
The patio of the Mlynchik Residence is an outdoor haven designed for relaxation and entertainment. Comfortable seating, including loungers and a dining area, beckons residents and guests to enjoy the fresh air. Lush greenery and potted plants add a touch of nature, creating a tranquil escape in the midst of the cottage town of Villago near Kyiv. Whether for morning coffee or evening gatherings, the terrace is a versatile and inviting space for all to enjoy.
